Instructional Content

LTK begins instruction by teaching the sounds made by letters, then 3-letter
words.

The multi-sensory techniques employed by the program include visual, auditory
and tactile-kinesthetic.

The student will receive up to ten repetitions of each sound, letter or word. If 80
percent mastery is achieved, the lesson continues with the next activity.

At the end of each of the LTK lessons, there is a quiz that appears to the student
as a game.

There are over 1400 lesson instructions and over 150 help instructions recorded
for the student.

All primary phonetic letter combinations have an accompanying graphic for
reinforcement. These graphics, keywords and spelling rules are integrated with
the software and are printed on 108 cards in the LTK card deck.

All new words are presented in strict sequence that relies on letters and letter-
sound combinations previously mastered by the student.
