The Language Tune-Up Kit (LTK®) is a research -based remedial reading
multimedia phonics software program for children 6 and older, teenagers and
adults.
LTK is designed for students whose current reading skill level approximates
preschool to 4th grade.
The basis for instructional delivery within the program is the renowned
Orton-Gillingham approach that has been highly successful for those with
learning disabilities. The techniques have been in use since the 1930's and have
been proven with thousands of students around the world.
This intensive, systemic, sequential phonics method of teaching language is
highly effective for those who have not been able to acquire basic skills through
other more traditional methods.
LTK At Home and LTK For Kids each maintain complete records for two students
for all lessons. LTK For School versions support an unlimited number of students.
Instruction is provided in both English and Spanish. Skills are taught in English.
Students are automatically placed at the appropriate beginning lesson, based on
the LTK Placement Test.
